Inventory tracking templates save you from blank-page syndrome. Start from a pattern, delete columns you do not need, and keep names consistent across sites.
Create a sheet from a blank or sample template, rename columns, import CSV, then duplicate the sheet for another warehouse. Details: WiScanner Cloud product page.
A template is a pre‑built sheet: sensible columns, the right data types and a few example rows so you can see the shape before you import real data. It saves you from the blank‑grid problem where everyone invents different column names. In WiScanner Cloud you pick a template when you create a sheet, then adjust it.
| Template key | Use |
|---|---|
inventory | On‑hand stock: qty, location, min stock |
cycle-counting | Compare expected vs counted quantity |
picklist | Pick / pack style order lists |
equipment-checkout | Asset / equipment handoff |
last-mile-delivery | Delivery tracking rows |
maintenance, warranty-register, lab-sample | Service, warranty and sample logs |
The catalogue also includes industry layouts (medical devices, fire‑extinguisher and AED inspections, vehicles, solar panels and more). Columns vary by template—open it in Cloud and preview before importing production data. This list is illustrative of catalogue keys, not a screenshot.
If your process is genuinely unusual, a blank sheet with four columns (Barcode, Name, Qty, Location) is faster than bending a template. You can always graduate to richer columns once the basics are scanning cleanly.
Yes—columns stay editable; the template is only a starting point.
You can create a sheet within Free limits (1 sheet, 10 active records). Larger catalogues need a paid plan—see Cloud pricing.
WiScanner Cloud ships starter templates (keys clients can select when creating a sheet). Examples include inventory and cycle-counting, plus other operational layouts in the catalog. Exact columns vary by template—open Cloud and preview before importing data.
